Three Scenes from Petrouchka by Igor Stravinsky; Jeffrey Chappell, pianist
This performance took place at Goucher College in Baltimore on either November 16 or 19, 1984, which was a pair of all-Stravinsky concerts. The video is digitally re-mastered from a VHS tape that was the only existing record of the event.
My interpretive goal was to imitate the timbres of the orchestral version as closely as possible.

Composed in 1877, this work from Fauré's early compositional period defined a new approach to keyboard writing that influenced later French composers such as Ravel and Debussy.
